TENDER FOR PEMBROKE LEISURE CENTRE ARTIFICIAL TURF PITCH REFURBISHMENT

The existing sand filled artificial turf pitch at Pembroke Leisure Centre has reached theend of it’s life and requires refurbishment. The existing pitch comprises a sand filled‘Notts sward’ carpet over a sand envelope base. To the perimeter of the artificial turfpitch is a tarmac strip within the weld mesh perimeter fence.The pitch is located within the grounds of Pembroke School. Pupils, staff andmembers of the public can therefore be expected in the vicinity of the works.The proposed works comprise the following tasks:-· Take up the existing artificial turf surface and tarmac perimeter area to asufficient depth to permit the installation of a new sand dressed carpet over awo layer porous tarmac sub-base.· Create two new ‘dugout’ areas on the west side of the pitch to include newperimeter fencing, a concrete hardstanding, ‘dugout’ shelters and seating.· Create a new goal storage area on the north side of the pitch to include newperimeter fencing, access gate and a tarmac hard standing.· Alterations to the existing access gates to include repairs and repositioning.· Remodelling of the access path to the south edge of the pitch.· Refurbishment of the flood lighting system.· The provision and installation of new goals including portable hockey and fivea-side goals and fixed ‘swing out’ football goals.· Removal and disposal of the old ‘dugout’ shelters, goals and sand stockpile.
