SPECIFIC at Swansea University is inviting tenders for the development of a renewable energy product estimation and feasibility tool.SPECIFIC envisage a solution that enables a simple and intuitive interface that considers massing site studies of any number of projects and rapidly performs building, thermal and renewable systems simulations.Outputs from the simulations should relate generation, store and demand to actual products and systems that will be specified by SPECIFIC post award. As a guide, the technologies specified will include:•Thin-film and panelised PV•Transpired Solar Collectors/Air Heaters•Thermal storage•Electrical storageThe key components of this software will be in capability of calculation methodology, calculation of output and validation of outputs.The potential users for this software are non-experts in building physics, thermal simulation and renewable energy optimisation. SPECIFIC is open to proposals as to how the pre-requisite knowledge gap between the expertise required to meet the brief above and the simplicity required to enable use by the lay-person is overcome. A user friendly solution is preferable.
