TENDER FOR THE COLLECTION AND TREATMENT OF RESIDUAL AND BULKY WASTE

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council invitedenders from suitably experienced and licensedcontractors for the collection,, treatment andRDF/SRF processing of municipal waste for aperiod of 12 Months from award of Contracts, withoptions, entirely at the discretion of Fermanagh andOmagh District Council, to extend the Contracts fora further period of 12 months or Part Thereof. Thecontract material will consist of residual wastearising from the Council kerbside refuse collectionservice and recycling centre residual and bulkywastes. The successful contractor will process thecontract material by the removal/recovery of anyrecyclable material and processing of residues intoRDF/SRF fuel. The contract materials will becollected at the Council's fully licensed transferstations at Gortrush Transfer Station Omagh andDrummee Transfer Station, Enniskillen. The twowaste categories are divided into three separatelots to reflect collection requirements as detailed inhe Tender Documents.The treatment of this wasteis to ensure that the Client meets its obligationsUnder Domestic and European legislation includinghe Landfill Allowance Scheme (Northern Ireland)Regulations 2004. Processes such as mechanicalbiological treatment, anaerobic digestion and theproduction of Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) orRefuse Derived Fuel (RDF) for energy recovery atan R1 rated facility are acceptable technologies forhe treatment of the Client's waste.
