The University of Birmingham is looking to lease a refurbished railway carriage. The refurbished carriage will be fitted with equipment to allow for on-site processing of data until June 2015. The budget is in the region of GBP 55 000 — GBP 60 000. Innovative proposals are encouraged.This is to be funded by the HiTech Rail project which is an ERDF-funded initiative aimed at enabling West Midlands SMEs to develop innovative rail products. The project is based in the Centre for Railway Research and Education at the University of Birmingham.
