TENDER FOR THE PROVISION OF A SUBSTANCE MISUSE RESIDENTIAL REHABILITATION SUPPORT SERVICE

Newport City Council invites tenders for the provision of both residential detoxification and rehabilitation services’ to provide psychological and social support for clients with drug and/or alcohol issues. The Service will compliment existing Community Care support for residential Tier 4 treatment options.The contract is expected to be awarded, initially for the period until March 2011, subject to continued Welsh Assembly Government funding and may be extended on an annual basis, subject to performance, for a period of up to a total of four years. Parties will be expected to act and negotiate in good faith with any changes of service provision which may arise from the establishment of the Gwent Area Planning Board and any other policy or legislative changes which may occur during the lifetime of the contract.The intention is to purchase services on a bed/night basis in blocks of 100 bed/nights. The indicative budget until March 2011 is £100,000. We will be seeking to grant contracts to a range of provision so potential providers may wish to consider offering a range of options that cover a number of blocks – say 100 nights, 500 nights 800 nights etc.
