The application of External Wall Insulation to non traditional Laings Easiform/Wimpey No Fines and Traditionally constructed properties within the Borough of Torfaen, South-East Wales, United Kingdom.The Contract will comprise approximately 300 nr properties of a non traditional Laings Easiform/ Wimpey No Fines construction .The properties are contained within the Torfaen area. All numbers are subject to variation and the details will be specified in the formal tender documents• To provide new insulated render system.• To bring the property up to current standards and compliance with Welsh Housing Quality Standards.• To extend the life of the building for another 60 years.• Improvements to energy efficiency in compliance with Building Regulations Approved Document L (Conservation of Fuel and Power). • To improve the building ''''U'''' Values and protect the structural integrity of the houses.• The works will be offered to a suitable Contractor who can demonstrate experience and excellence in delivering projects of this nature.Bron Afon Community Housing is committed to achieving economic, social and environmental well-being for its residents and implementing the Community Strategy so as to ensure a better quality of life for everyone, now and for generations to come. To achieve this it commits to the following actions to the fullest extent possible within the relevant legal and policy frameworks and the available funding:i) to consider what recruitment and training, equal opportunities and supply-chain opportunities could be obtained from each services contract ii) to include training, equal opportunities and recruitment requirements, and supply-chain opportunities in its service requirements, where it considers this appropriate;iii) to include other social and environmental matters in its service requirements, where it considers this appropriate; andiv) to use these requirements in all stages of the selection and contract award process, and as contract conditions.
