The build of stonewalling on the Ebbw Fach Trail

Descriptions

The Ebbw Fach Trail is a pedestrian and cycle route network that has been developed and is connected through a number of Public Open Spaces, Rights of Way and public access areas running through the county borough of Blaenau Gwent. The work consists of 14 Feature stonework walls described as trailmarkers or nodes, these are to indicate the route of the Ebbw Fach Trail. Each wall (excluding Cymcelyn to Central Park Links) includes the inlay of a Corten panel with the Ebbw Fach Trail logo laser cut into it. The trail markers also include a Corten section fitted between the two walls (down the sides and across the ground) which is also laser cut with the Ebbw Fach Trail logo and the location/area name. The trail markers are to indicate entrances or transitions along the Ebbw Fach Trail and the trail’s use is to be monitored via pedestrian counters. These are to be part of the installation of the walls. During the construction of the walls and in particular once the stone pillars are in position the manufacturer of the pedestrian counters (Linetop) will be installing them.It is expected that all works will be of a high quality and that the walling will maintain a uniformity across the whole of the works.
