The CAE is a Swansea based charity that works to empower marginalised individuals. In furtherance of our mission to create vibrant communities who are supported to succeed, we have acquired a property which will be the Community Enterprise Hub and a central meeting space for our beneficiaries, the local community and support providers.THE WORKWe wish to contract a suitably qualified, experienced and resourced building Contractor to undertake renovations and refurbishment of our building situated on 28 Oxford Street, Swansea, SA1 3AN.The work is to include the clearance of existing services and fittings and the fitting of new services. The scope of the project will also include some external works.In summary, the work comprises:Structural workAsbestos managementRenovating ground shop floor into cafe, kitchen and meeting spaceReplacement of toilets and sinksFlooring, tiling and wall covering as well as plastering and paintingUpgrading of electrical small power, lighting, fire alarm and heating systemsRedecoration of rooms across 4 floors (including the basement)The CAE recognises the importance of the Welsh language to the communities it serves. Consequently, responses to an invitation to quote or tender will be accepted in Welsh as well as English. However, please note that tender responses submitted only in Welsh will be translated by the organisation into English before consideration. Neighbouring occupiers include both local and national covenants.Description -The premises is three storeys, with the ground floor consisting of an open plan retail space, storage facilities to rear and access to a rear yard.The upper floors consist of stores, office space, kitchen, and WC facilities.There is also a basement currently used for storage.Services - The property benefits from mains water and electric utilities.
