PLEASE NOTE ACCESS TO ALL DOCUMENTATION IN RELATION TO THIS ENQUIRY AND YOUR REQUIRED RESPONSE SHOULD BE MADE VIA THE E TENDER WALES WEB PORTAL (see access details and further information provided in Section IV below)With the help of the Caia Park Community, we plan to create nine areas of woodland to enhance the local environment in Caia Park, Wrexham. These woodlands will be part of Plant! a Welsh Assembly Government initiative with the aim of planting a tree at special sites across Wales on behalf of every child born or adopted in Wales from December 2008.The woodlands are to be established within the Caia Park Housing Estate, approximately ½ miles South East of Wrexham Town Centre. The site is designated as former landfill, and planting will take place on the largest areas of open space within the Caia Park Estate.Due to the nature of the PLANT! Project, the contract will have an element of Community Involvement, With Community groups participating in the planting up of several woodlands under the supervision of the Wrexham tree Officer and PLANT project manager.The contract will run for the duration of Five years. Year One - Establishment phase, Year Two - Three - Four - Five – Maintenance phase.The works to include the preparation, layout, fencing off and planting up and subsequent maintenance of nine small woodland plots, covering a total of 3 ha. The maintenance period for the project will run for four years concurrent after the initial establishment period in year one. In year one, the contractor will be responsible for the preparation of the nine planting sites, these sites will require fencing up prior to the trees are planted up. All establishment works are to take place before the end of the 2010/11 planting season. The maintenance phase of the Plant project will run concurrent for four years after the establishment phase. The beating up will be estimated at 30% of the total planting, and will run for the duration of the maintenance phase. A number of paths will be developed (see bill of quantities & landscape specification) through three compartments, the maintenance will run for the duration of the maintenance contract. Entrance to these footpaths will be through Kissing Gates found at the entrance of the footpaths.Litter collection will take place throughout the woodland plots as demand dictates; this will run from the establishment phase and through to the end of the maintenance period.
