This notice is for the services of a technical developer to create the web-based presence and functionality to deliver the following:Deliverable 1 – The creation of an online presence that will fulfill the vision for a digital community for Wales Official Tourist GuidesChallenges – Securing the services of a best value, competent developer that understands the business environment of tourist guiding.Solution – Providing a simple back end facility, that is suitable for all guides to use. Completion of the digital community infrastructure within strict timescales.Deliverable 2 – The creation of an internal area within the community (some areas password controlled)central repository of WOTGA information such as: organisational papers, calendar, executive area, CPD, course details etc..informal members’ communication done by social mediaChallenge – Structuring and collating existing knowledge base.Solution – Upskilling the WOTGA membership to use the community and contribute content.Deliverable 3 – The creation of an External (open) area within the communityfocused entirely on driving business to the Guidessimple with few clicks: Find a Guide, Book a Tour Today, Become a Guide, links to social media and trip advisorphotos on ShareWales Flikr and videos on YouTube channelChallenge – The constant availability of a wide range of product across all regions of Wales and biogs/videos featuring all guides.Solution – The active participation of all WOTGA members in the community, encouraged by a community curator/marketeer/administrator, to include the provision of bookable products and a profile, either photo/ biog or short video.Deliverable 4 – Ultimately, the recognition of the community as the True Hub of Tourist Guiding in Wales.Contracted Project OutcomesA minimum of 35 micro businesses will be digitally engaged; fragmented businesses with a common aim will be working together digitally to create critical mass and consequently viable products; communication to support marketing and business networking and sharing of good practice will take place within a network of up to 111 businesses. Communities within Wales will benefit from the availability of local information, building a sense of place and civic pride and community cohesion. Customer confidence will be built and spend in tourism increased as a result of better presentation of the stories of Wales.
