The Delivery of Community Equipment Services

Cheshire West and Chester Council, Cheshire East Council and the Integrated Care Board have a contract for the delivery of community equipment services as a partnership across the Boroughs. Cheshire West will be leading procurement activities on behalf of the Partnership. This contract ends in March 2026, and we are exploring options for the future. We would like to engage with Providers of Community Equipment Services to get an understanding of the market - is there an appetite to deliver a similar contract; and what would the potential costs be. We are keen to understand how your organisation innovates and develops services. This service is used across local authorities and the NHS as such needs of the service can vary, we want to ensure that prescribers are supported to achieve outcomes with individuals in the timeliest manner possible across acute and community settings. To ensure that we deliver value for money we want to adopt a data driven approach so that information is readily available in an accessible format to deliver a service that adapts to the needs of those who engage with it. This informal approach will allow us to have exploratory talks with existing providers which will help form our option appraisal report to the Council.
