The following Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) are to commission a Community Acquired Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service for registered patients in Sunderland and Gateshead.— Sunderland CCG;— Gateshead CCG.The aim of the service is to provide a community based, coordinated rehabilitation service to patients aged 16 and above, offering components of inter-disciplinary specialist rehabilitation and support which supports patients and their carers over a longer course of time and events.The service will treat patients with mild, moderate and complex brain injuries addressing their comprehensive needs for functional and emotional support, information and advice and practical help with vocational issues, housing, benefits and care support needs.Under the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 the contracting authorities must consider:— How what is proposed to be procured might improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of the relevant area. (Area is the geographic area for which the procurement is taking place).— How, in conducting the process of procurement, it might act with a view to securing the improvement.A bidder event will be held on Friday 13th June at 14:30 pm at Sunderland Clinical Commissioning Group. Bidders will be provided with an overview of the aims and objectives of the new service and an overview of the tender documentation and procurement process.
