The Provision of a Varied Range of Leisure and Social ‘Short Break’ Activities and Services for Chil
Descriptions
Providers are invited to submit grant funding applications for the provision of a range of ‘short breaks’ services. The main requirements of the services are summarised in the service specification and all services will be expected to be outcome focused. To assist you with the completion of your grant funding application form, it is important that you read the supporting documents.RBC and HMR CCG would like to encourage Providers to submit grant funding applications for the provision of a variety of short break activities and services. All Children and young people with a disability aged 0 to 19 years are eligible for a short break. We want them to have access to the same sort of play, leisure and social opportunities as their non-disabled peers. We are looking for applications from Providers that will allow us to offer a wide and varied range of activities. Applications containing new, innovative and creative ideas are welcome as well as those already tried and tested activities that are part of our current menu of short breaks. Our Parents and Carers have identified some gaps in that menu such as dance, drama and music and activities for children with complex needs. We would also wish larger Providers to demonstrate an ability to provide an annual apprenticeship/internship for a young person with a disability.Funding:It is our intention to fund programmes from a minimum value of GBP 5 000 up to GBP 70 000 per annum although it is recognised that some projects will be time-specific or ‘one-off' events which may be less than GBP 5 000. Overall total funding available will be approximately GBP 733 000 in year 2015/16, for 16/17 and 17/18 this may be the same budget but will confirm actual allocation in 16/17 and 17/18.Contract Period:Rochdale MBC is looking for providers to commence services as from 1.4.2015. Successful providers will be awarded a contract for approximately three years with the option to extend for a further 1 year. Any extensions will be conditional, based upon satisfactory performance and subject to funding being available. The Aim:Rochdale MBC would like to encourage a wide range of providers and organisations, charities, independent providers, community and social enterprises to apply. In the interests of viability, sustainability and market development, Rochdale MBC is keen to develop a wide range and volume of short breaks from a variety of providers. The aim is to provide a variety of different and creative ideas for short breaks to disabled children, young people and their families aged 0-19 years of age. The specific types of services we are looking to commission are as follows and organisations will need to demonstrate that they can meet and deliver services of this type.
