The provision of Generation Meter Reading Services to enable Bron Afon’s Photo Voltaic Feed in Tarif

Bron Afon Community Housing is engaged in a project to install some 3500 PV installations in the Torfaen region. The purpose of the project is to help to alleviate fuel poverty and generate income from Feed in Tariffs (FITs). In order to collect FITs Bron Afon is required to measure the generation of electricity through a generation meter, and send quarterly returns to FIT providers to enable payments to be made. Bron Afon also wishes to monitor the generation of energy on a day by day basis to ensure that systems are generating to capacity, and faults are identified quickly.Secondly Bron Afon own numerous blocks with communal electrical supplies, and are seeking a meter reading provider to perform quarterly readings on communal utility meters.Thirdly Bron Afon is seeking water temperature monitoring services as a part of its Legionella management program Bron Afon is seeking suitably qualified, approved and registered organisations to provide the services as described Bron Afon Community Housing is committed to achieving economic, social and environmental well-being for its residents and implementing the Community Strategy so as to ensure a better quality of life for everyone, now and for generations to come. To achieve this it commits to the following actions to the fullest extent possible within the relevant legal and policy frameworks and the available funding:i) to consider what recruitment and training, equal opportunities and supply-chain opportunities could be obtained from each services contract ii) to include training, equal opportunities and recruitment requirements, and supply-chain opportunities in its service requirements, where it considers this appropriate;iii) to include other social and environmental matters in its service requirements, where it considers this appropriate; andiv) to use these requirements in all stages of the selection and contract award process, and as contract conditions.Properties are occupied and Contractor should take all Health and Safety aspects into account and in particular. All work must be completed as governed by all current legislation.Anticipated commencement will be September 2011 and completion approximately 12 months after this date.
