The Provision of Treated Water Storage Point Cleaning and Minor Repairs.

Scottish Water requires one or two framework contractors to carry out to assist with the maintenance of approx 2 800 Treated Water Storage Points (Service Reservoirs, Break Pressure Tanks, Clear Water Tanks etc) that are located in all parts of Scotland. This will be part of a larger programme to improve overall potable water quality.On an annual basis a risk based approach will be used by Scottish Water to determine the cleaning frequency which is likely to vary from six months up to an absolute maximum of ten years. Scottish Water are aiming to implement a five year cleaning cycle for its Treated Water Storage Points.The work carried out by the framework contractor will include preparation of work schedules, risk assessments and method statements, mobilization, travel to and from site, access/ egress, cleaning activities, minor repairs, removal of waste materials, etc to licensed tip, all tipping charges, reporting progress and comments, plus other related tasks, all in compliance with Scottish water's requirements regarding Health and Safety, Hygiene, etc.The number of reservoirs that have to be cleaned annually will tend to vary as risk is assessed but is likely to be of the order of 200–400 per year.
