North East Wales Community Equipment Service (NEWCES)NEWCES provide community equipment for Flintshire & Wrexham local authorities and Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board within the two local authority boundaries.This new service was set up in February 2010 when the previous stores in Flintshire and Wrexham joined together and moved to the new premises.The service has been in existence for over twenty years. Equipment is provided into the community following assessment by prescribers. Staff within the service deliver, install and collect all types of assistive technology.There are approximately 2000 pieces of equipment that will require maintenance/servicing within the community or store as part of the tender.Types of equipment that require maintenance/servicing as part of tender are: - Bath liftsHoistsStand aidsPillow liftersMattress variatorsLifting cushionsTurntablesAll above are from various manufacturers so a wide knowledge of maintenance requirements which comply with: -Lifting Operation Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER)Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER)Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH)Please note:Certificates of qualifications will be required for each service engineer.
