The Coal Authority is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Minewater Treatment Schemes throughout the United Kingdom. This Contract is for the supply and delivery of chemical reagents to pumped minewater treatment schemes with active water treatment. Chemicals to be supplied and delivered under this Contract include Caustic Soda, Kalic Slurry, Hydrogen Peroxide, Flocculent, Polymers and Hydrated Lime. Other chemicals may be added throught the Contract period, which will be dependent on the chemistry of the water to be treated, amendments to Discharge Consents, additional schemes, which may include schemes other than minewater (i.e. non coal) and at this point is unknown.The Contract will commence from June 2013 for an initial 2 year period, with optional provisions to extend the Contract for up to a further 1 year (31.5.2016) and for up to a further 1 year (31.5.2017). The Contract value is therefore approximately 1 400 000 GBP to 3 000 000 GBP dependent upon optional extensions.This Contract will be available for use by other UK Public Bodies including Central Government Departments, their agencies, NDPB's and Public Authorities, for these types of products.
