Wrexham Glyndwr University has an extensive Composites laboratory based at the Advanced Composites Training and Development Centre in Broughton which is a joint activity with Airbus.This laboratory is used for teaching, research and enterprise activities. There is also collaboration within the university with the OpTIC centre and this as well as commercial opportunities to an extent governs the requirements of the equipment which is available and the capability of the laboratory.We are looking to identify and source suppliers that can supply a drop weight impact tester equipment which fulfils the following technical requirements, which are outlined below:Ability to make measurements in the temperature range -70 to 150oCAnti-rebound deviceAccredited calibration of the systemHigh resonance frequency. Expectation is that this would be greater than 75 kHzSupport stand for compression after impact testing of composites and also Boeing Compression after impact future for subsequent edgewise testing of the damaged specimens.
