Descriptions
1/ Ground Investigation WorkSite investigation work to ascertain the ground conditions of individual plots of land, and provide a report with recommendations for ground treatment work (where necessary) and recommendations on best foundation options for each particular development. The site investigation specification will be given prior to each individual GI, and may differ depending on desk study data of each plot. The successful contractor must evidence compliance with the following:a. Ground and ground water conditions assessed in accordance with BS5930 Code of Practice for Site Investigationsb. Establishing the engineering properties of the soil and aggressiveness of the ground water in accordance with BS1377:1990 - Parts 1-9 Methods of test for soils for civil engineering purposesc. If the site investigation indicates the site may be contaminated, further investigations are carried out in accordance with BS 10175:2001 Investigation of potentially contaminated sites.2/ Ground Treatment WorkTo include, where necessary, ground treatment work such as drill and grout to stabilise ground in zones of instability caused by shallow mineworkings.
