Threatened Species Recovery Actions
Descriptions
Action planning of GB Red List threatened, near threatened and regionally extinct species, as well as Section 41 species, is a current priority for Natural England, linked to the Environment Act biodiversity targets. The 'Threatened Species Recovery Actions' (TSRA) project aims to reverse the fortunes of up to 1000 species listed as threatened, near threatened or regionally extinct. To contribute to target delivery planning and actual recovery, we need to understand how best to prioritise action at a species level. These actions, along with data from Natural England's Species Evidence Base, will allow us to prioritise future funding for schemes including the Species Recovery Programme. The work will also inform the development of more multi-taxa projects, allowing larger, more cost-effective, species recovery delivery. The TSRA project will interface with the Species Evidence Base by developing detailed actions for species identified as requiring targeted or tailored interventions. The main requirement is for production of written actions for selected species that need species-specific measures to bring about their recovery or conservation. Please read the Request for Quotation and Q&A document for further details.
