NHS England (Central Midlands) commissions a full range of NHS dental services on behalf of its population and would like to commission an intermediate (Tier 2) specialist service across the Central Midlands within Primary care or community settings.The Central Midlands area includes the following geographical areas:-.— Lincolnshire.— Leicestershire.— Northamptonshire.— Bedfordshire.— Milton Keynes.— Hertfordshire.The NHS 5 Year forward view sets out new ways of working so that the NHS does more to prevent ill health and use its finite resources in the most effective way. It cites examples of multi-speciality working within community settings. We have used the philosophy of the 5 Year forward view to develop this specification for Tier 2 Advanced mandatory services within primary or intermediate care settings. It covers:— Minor oral surgery— Sedation, and— Restorative dentistry— Plus mandatory services with sedation.
