West Essex Clinical Commissioning Group wished to establish a single provider contract for the provision of Tier 3 Weight Management Services.Tier 3 Weight Management Services provides the link between Tier 1 and 2 environmental and population-wide services and lifestyle interventions and Tier 4 Specialist Bariatric Surgical Services. Access to Tier 4 is dependent on completion of the Tier 3 service programme.The service seeks to provide a safe and effective high-quality weight management service which supports patients to achieve clinically significant weight loss through safe and sustainable means. The service will be delivered in a multi-disciplinary approach to addressing behavioural, psychological and clinical challenges faced by obese individuals.
