Awarded
To develop a Tourism Destination Brand Identity for Galway and a Brand Implementation Plan
Descriptions
This brief is for a collective tourism brand to represent Galway City and Galway County as a unified destination. Galway City and Galway County are the two local authorities in the region and the Tourism Officers in each local authority are collaborating on the project with support from the national tourism agency Fáilte Ireland. Galway sits on the Wild Atlantic Way in the western portion of the County, with the Galway City being the only city on the Wild Atlantic Way route, the eastern portion of the County is part of Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands. Within this overarching brand for Galway, there are internationally recognised visitor areas like the City and Connemara; popular areas of south Galway that border Clare; then there are burgeoning propositions like Lough Derg and the Shannon as well as areas that have strong aspiration to be considered destinations in their own right, though not currently incorporating a strong tourism product.
