TO UNDERTAKE A STUDY OF OPTIONS AVAILABLE TO NCH FOR PROVIDING A FURNISHED TENANCY SCHEME

Descriptions

Newport City Homes (NCH) is seeking to explore the feasibility of providing furnished accommodation to our tenants to enable them to move quickly into their new tenancies and help sustain them in their homes. Many of our tenants on low incomes have identified particular problems with being able to afford basic goods and/or furniture at the start of their tenancy. This often leads to delays in them moving into a property, which has implications on housing benefit payments resulting in them falling into rent arrears early on in their tenancy. To help resolve this issue, NCH is seeking to explore appropriate options for providing furnished tenancies and/or furniture packages to tenants unable to afford to purchase these themselves at the start of their tenancy. We are seeking to appoint suitably qualified consultants to undertake a feasibility study into the provision of furnished accommodation and/or an appropriate furniture package for NCH tenants. We wish to engage with a company that has specific expertise and a proven track record in undertaking research and analysis within the social housing sector.Submissions should be returned no later than 12 noon on 30th September 2011
