Transforming the D-Day Museum Base Build Works - AWARD
Descriptions
Portsmouth City Council (the Authority) is seeking to procure a contract for construction and refurbishment works at the D-Day Museum located on Clarence Esplanade, Southsea, Hampshire PO5 3NT. The D-Day Museum is Britain's only museum dedicated to one of the most pivotal events in world history - the landing of Allied troops on the beaches of Normandy on 6th June 1944. The D-Day Museum is located on Southsea seafront in Portsmouth and was established in its current building in 1984. The building incorporates an earlier vehicular shed which was located on the site as part of an historic MOD site. The building was then extended in 1994 to house a caf?. The main headings under which the construction/ refurbishment works will be required are: o Structural alterations. o Forming extension (including substructure, external walling, roofing and drainage works). o Internal partitions. o Mechanical and electrical installations. o Fittings and furnishes. o Floors, walls/ ceiling finishes. o General repairs/ improvements to the building fabric. It is intended that the appointed contractor to undertake the construction and refurbishment works shall act as the Principal Contractor as defined by the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. The Council is targeting to have awarded the contract by 28th April 2017 with a su...
