Descriptions
At COP27, due to the efforts of Ireland, the EU and many other countries, a decision was reached to create new financing arrangements for Loss and Damage, including a dedicated fund. This decision included the Terms of Reference of a Transitional Committee whose main task is to provide recommendations to COP28 on the operationalisation of new funding arrangements and the fund. A single consultant is required to provide technical assistance services on climate-induced Loss and Damage to the DFA Climate Unit over a period of 9.5 months. Engagement with and provision of advice at technical level on matters related to the Transitional Committee to DFA and DECC to assist in shaping Ireland’s contributions to the Committee.
