Theses processes will form part of a fixed term module where Service Participants can demonstrate and document continuous improvement, progress and activity: 2.1Providing a mentor who would assist and enable individuals who are unable to use public transport, such as a bus / train/ taxi and to do so independently. This will include confidence building. The ability to use public transport is dependent on the ability to access relevant time table information. As some Service Participants may have very low literacy and numeracy skills, some Service Participants may require training on how to access this information. The Mentor will assist in Service Users overcome these difficulties. Some Service Participants will require assistance and training in using communication devices such as telephones and computers to access information such as transport timetables. This process will form part of a fixed term module where Service Participants can demonstrate and document continuous improvement, progress and activity.2.2 There are other organisations and programs which link in to this contract, some are ESF programs which are, or will be, run during this contract period .Similarly there are existing structures and organisations , disabled driving centres , mobility schemes , disability driving modification devices and suppliers etc .This constitutes a knowledge and support resource which is not funded directly through Taith i Waith but is of benefit to Taith i Waith Service Participants .The Service Provider will provide a database of all these activities as a signposting tool which is clearly documented and can be added to the appendix of the Taith i Waith business plan .This will constitute a signposting resource which can be written up as a fixed term module where Service Participants can demonstrate and document continuous improvement, progress and activity2.3 As a consequence of disability, many Taith i Waith Service Participants who are able to drive are unable to successfully pass the theory/ written test .The Service Provider will need to provide clear interventions and support to overcome this difficulty. This will include mentoring and signposting to other support as detailed in 2.2. It will also include mentoring and coaching Taith i Waith clients to pass the theory/written test. This to be written up as a fixed term module where Service Participants can demonstrate and document continuous improvement, progress and activity2.4 The Taith i Waith program supports and encourages volunteering, the successful Service Provider should be able to demonstrate how they will encourage and facilitate volunteering within this contract. This to be written up as a fixed term module where Service Participants can demonstrate and document continuous improvement, progress and activity2.5There will be a number of Taith i Waith Service Participants who will have no previous experience of driving a vehicle , there are also Service Participants within the mental health group who have driven in the past but have, as a result of mental illness, lost confidence in their ability to drive. A key component of this contract will be to arrange driver training days in a safe and supportive environment .This is not a provision for driving lessons but an opportunity for individuals to gain confidence in their ability to drive a vehicle. This module would enable the service user gain confidence to access formal driving lessons, which would follow on to the signposting function as detailed in 2.2 .This to be written up as a fixed term module where Service Participants can demonstrate and document continuous improvement, progress and activity2.6The Service Provider will be required to report to the Taith i Waith Management Team and to the Taith i Waith Development Board as and when required 2.7The Service Provider will complete all relevant documentation required within the Taith i Waith program and maintain true, accurate and independent records of participant numbers.
