Descriptions

The requirement for Transformer Services covers a wide range of activities that fall into two categories; Upgrades / Modifications and Maintenance.Upgrades/Modifications include enhancements that provide improved performance of the transformer, such as marshalling kiosks, radiator banks, fans, pumps, pressure relief devices, monitoring equipment, winding temperature relays etc.Maintenance will include activities used to support the existing Direct Labour Organisation arrangements and will include tap changer maintenance, repairs of transformer ancillary equipment, link chambers maintenance, gasket repairs, leak repairs and breather changes etc.The preferred option would be for the successful bidder(s) to have design capabilities, staff that hold Electricity North West Limited authorisation and oil handling equipment.With the exception of transformer oil (that will be free issue), all works include the supply and fit of materials to complete the relevant maintenance or upgrade unless stated. The contract will provide for labour and materials.
