Closing date for return of tenders is Monday 4th Jan 2010, 12 Noon, via the In-tend system.Two-photon confocal laser systemGeneral Requirement:An advanced, flexible, universal and high IR power two-photon confocal laser system is required for confocal imaging of living cells and ‘deep-inside-tissue’ multi-photon imaging as well as UV and two-photon uncaging for a diverse range of biological samples and applications. In particular, there are specific requirements for the ability to permeabilise cells with the accurately targeted IR beam. The system must have the following UV laser lines: 355nm, 405nm; at least 8 fast-switchable visible laser lines (in 458-633nm range), at least 2.5W average power tunable (at least 690-1040nm) infrared laser with software control of wavelength and power. The system must include a point scanning confocal scanhead with a minimum of 3 high sensitivity confocal detectors, reflected and transmitted detectors for two-photon imaging, non-scan detectors and conventional brightfield detector. Scanner must have high speed, high resolution, tunable scan speeds, large scan field, fast lines switching at all scan speeds, software or hardware controlled focus drift compensation. Direct IR beam routing, optical table for the IR laser and the system, incubation chamber, 8, 12 and 16 bit 2D, 3D and 4D software with uncaging, FRAP, FLIP, FRET modules are all essential features.
