UK Shared Business Services Ltd as the Contracting Authority is putting in place a contract.The UK India Education Research Initiative (UKIERI) is a multi-stakeholder partnership programme led by the UK Government to enhance the educational links between India and the UK through developing and delivering projects that meet the priorities and needs of both countries.The programme began with Phase 1 in April 2006, ending in 2011. It was subsequently followed by Phase 2 which is due to end on 31.3.2016. We are now finalising arrangements for a third phase, due to commence on 1.4.2016 running until 31.3.2021.The UKIERI programme is supported by both the UK and Indian Governments and is managed by joint Secretariat that acts on behalf of both Governments.This purpose of this procurement exercise is to find a supplier to provide the Secretariat that will manage phase 3 of the UKIERI programme, beginning in April 2016.Value: The programme to be delivered will 6 000 000 GBP per year. Suppliers would be expected to provide a team that is appropriately resourced to manage the disbursement of these funds.The cost of running this team (the Secretariat) will be taken from this 6 000 000 GBP p/a figure. Bidders will need to detail in their bid how much it would cost to run a team of an appropriate size to manage the disbursement of these funds on an annual basis.Duration: Potentially 5 years (initial contract to last for 2 years with possible extension of a further 3 years based on annual performance reviews).
