UK SBS Testing of Refrigeration appliances – Wine Coolers – for compliance with Ecodesign and Energy Labelling legislation EC No 643/2009 and EU No 1060/2010

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) Regulatory Delivery Directorate is the appointed market surveillance authority, responsible for enforcing the Ecodesign for Energy Related Products and Energy Labelling Regulations within the UK. Tenders are invited to test a selection of wine coolers (wine storage appliances) to verify compliance with the following Regulations (and any amendments to these): •EC No 643/2009 (Ecodesign requirements for household refrigerating appliances). •EU No 1060/2010 (Energy labelling of household refrigerating appliances). Testing shall include labelling requirements on airborne acoustical noise emissions. The test methods applied should follow harmonised standards the reference numbers of which have been published in the Official Journal of the European Union, or other reliable, accurate and reproducible calculation and measurement methods, which take into account the generally recognised state of the art. UK SBS currently manages £700m expenditure for its Customers, our growth projections anticipate this will rise to £1bn in 2013/14.
