UK-Birmingham:Skid Resistance Measurement Surveys 2015–2017.
Descriptions
Specialist technical support to provide routine annual skid resistance surveys. The strategic road network is surveyed annually to assess skid resistance. The results identify any sites with abnormally low skid resistance. These sites are subsequently investigated and prioritised for remedial work, if required. (The subsequent investigation checks other factors including geometry and accident history and does not form part of this proposal) This task is for the surveying work, data processing and data upload only. This is a required duty of the Minister for Transport as detailed in HD28. The Network has been split into 4 Regions plus a series of Benchmark Sites. Each region, and the Benchmarking aspect of the task, will be awarded as separate Lots.
