Ukraine Labour Code Transformation UA2001

Descriptions

The project continues the work begun under the UA91 project funded by the GGF1. The outputs of the previous intervention have successfully been absorbed by the Ministry of Economic Development and the Parliament of Ukraine. In particular, draft Labour Law developed by the project is currently being reviewed within the Parliament committee. The proposed engagement will thus further support the adoption of the draft law, as well as development of policies and measures to mitigate the negative effects of COVID-19 pandemic on employment and job creation. In addition, the products of the proposed intervention will be enacted in the form of bylaws or government and Ministry regulations, which will ensure the sustainability of the project results. In addition, said products will constitute a considerable portion of actions under the labour regulation transformation chapter of the Government Programme, which enables these products to be implemented across the government of Ukraine. The successful adoption of the draft Law on Labour will pave the way to implementing the provisions of the new regulation using the roadmap developed under the UA91 project.
