Cardiff University through the FLEXIS Project is looking for a Contractor to conduct an Experimental large-scale ex-situ study of the suitability of Welsh coals for Underground Coal Gasification (UCG) both at atmospheric and elevated pressures. Coal characterisation and syngas production as a function of various reactants, their flow rates and under different operating conditions will be investigated. Also, the formation and release of contaminants during the gasification experiments through chemical analysis of post-gasification residues and water condensates will be assessed.
