The University of Warwick, Warwick Manufacturing Group, has a requirement for a new vacuum induction melting furnace (VIM) for the purpose of fabrication of bespoke model alloys in the quantities relevant to a material science project. This has been deemed to be up to 10 kg. The requirements of the machine is to produce ‘Clean’ steel with a range of compositions. In addition it is also required to have access to the molten material in order to take samples, and to monitor steel/slag interactions (sampling every 1-2 minutes).Please refer to http://in-tendhost.co.uk/universityofwarwick for further information.
