Venue Cymru is a large purpose built venue located on the promenade in Llandudno, Conwy, North Wales. It consists of a theatre, conference and events centre, arena, hall, restaurant, café and bars and is the leading entertainment venue in North Wales.The Y Review restaurant and kitchen facilities at Venue Cymru have been identified as an area in need of repurpose, refurbishment and need to be brought up to date.For the restaurant, there is a requirement to increase the capacity from 65 covers to 95 covers and the relocation of the existing restaurant bar would assist with accommodating this. Other requirements include the restaurant to appear standalone from the surrounding theatre environment whilst still including aspects of the theatre in the final concept. The current kitchen facilities are fully functional but the area will need to be redesigned to compensate the extra restaurant capacity and private functions the new restaurant will be able to provide.To proceed with this project, the restaurant and kitchen refurbishment requirements will be split in to two separate phases / tenders. Phase 1 will be the design / concept element of the project. Phase 2 will be the construction / works element of the project.Tenders / contracts are subject to Venue Cymru securing funding to proceed with the project. If the projects commence, all refurbishment works must be completed so that the restaurant and kitchen are fully reinstated and operational by April 2018.Design companies (for phase 1 of the project) and construction companies (for phase 2 of the project) are invited to attend a pre-tender Supplier Day Site Visit of the Y Review restaurant and kitchen area at Venue Cymru on:Friday 14 July 2017 at 10:30 a.m.The Supplier Day Site Visit will consist of a guided tour of the existing Y Review restaurant and kitchen facilities, the Venue Cymru Project Team will share their current vision and plans for the restaurant and kitchen refurbishment and there will be an opportunity for pre-tender questions and answers.If you would like to attend the pre-tender Supplier Day Site Visit, please confirm your attendance prior to the date of the site visit to:procurement@conwy.gov.ukNOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at http://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=68334.
