Newport Norse, on behalf of Newport City Council (‘the Authority’), invites expressions of interest from building contractors who have relevant experience and resources to undertake the Vibrant and Viable Places works programme during the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 financial years. The projects vary in size, complexity and value with an anticipated maximum individual premise contract sum of 300kThe majority of the projects will involve the refurbishment of building facades which can include removal and replacement of shopfronts, repairs to existing stone features and parapets, pointing and rendering, enlarging openings and replacement windows and doors, replacement fascias, soffits and rainwater goods, cills, lintels and minor structural and demolition works, fitting roller shutters and signage, electrical supplies and decorations . The projects will be undertaken predominantly on commercial premises typically as shops, pubs, clubs, offices with flats / accomodation facilities above ground floor and therefore could remain operational throughout the construction period; as such only contractors who have acted as the principal contractor on such building schemes will be considered and will need to provide adequate evidence of such
