Video Production for Welsh Government Non Maintained Curriculum for Wales

PURPOSE: The curriculum for funded non-maintained settings was published by the Welsh Government on 11 January 2021.Phase 1:Higher Education Institutions in Wales, the Welsh Government and a practice based advisory group have worked collaboratively to produce the following professional learning modules available on Hwb, an online platform for Welsh Government documents and resources.· Understanding Curriculum for Wales and the development of A curriculum for funded non-maintained nursery settings· Understanding the five developmental pathways and pedagogy· Leadership in a non-maintained nursery setting· Schematic development: patterns of repetitive behaviour in childrenTo support the delivery of the modules and access to them for ECEC professionals we propose a suite of guidance videos for each module. This supports the sector accessing the material over the long term, flexibly and repeatedly, and prevents the need to attend a one-off ‘training’ event. This proposal is based on feedback from the sector about the challenges of accessing PL resources, this is especially important for the non-funded settings.
