DFID is seeking proposals for a new Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG)Research and Innovation Fund to address critical evidence gaps and improve the effectiveness of interventions to address VAWG. The Research and Innovation Fund aims to improve policies and expand investment in programmes to reduce the prevalence of VAWG and increase the number of women and girls receiving quality response services in at least ten DFID priority countries. The programme will consist of three distinct but inter-related components and an overall evaluation Component 2 of the VAWG Research and Innovation Fund will produce rigorous, operationally relevant research and evidence on VAWG in conflict and humanitarian emergencies, examining drivers, prevalence, trends over time, and effective prevention and response mechanisms. Two additional components, focusing on generating evidence on what works for prevention of VAWGand the economic and social costs of violence, will be advertised separately. Potential applicants are invited to fill in a pre-qualification questionnaire which should include a 15 page concept note outlining their proposed programme. Four applicants will be shortlisted and invited to submit full proposals at the invitation to tender (ITT) stage. This is a Research requirement and is advertised on OJEU voluntarily.
