Occupancy Surveys of both the Self Catering and Serviced accommodation sectors have been undertaken by Visit Wales (formerly the Wales Tourist Board) for over 20 years. The surveys provide comprehensive trend information on the demand for accommodation in Wales across the following accommodation types: self-catering cottages and apartments, touring caravans and camping, holiday parks, hotels, guesthouses, B&Bs and hostels. The main requirements of this contract are: - to monitor monthly occupancy levels amongst a representative sample of accommodation establishments in Wales;- to analyse and report findings to Visit Wales and participating operators on a monthly and annual basis.Whilst the key measures of performance are bedroom occupancy, bed space occupancy, unit occupancy and pitch occupnacy, data is also required to be analysed by the following for each establishment category :- size of establishment, grading, location, tariff, appropriate geographical region (dependent on sample size).
