Waste & Recycling Collections and Street Cleansing Contract

Wokingham Borough Council (WBC) are planning on commencing the procurement of the waste and recycling collections and street cleansing service over the next 6 month. The current contracts are due to end in March 2026 and the procurement will be aiming to achieve mobilisation and service commencement under a new contract from April 2026. The current intention is to advertise the opportunity on Find a Tender Service (FTS) and Contracts Finder in the period of July-August 2024. Discussions around the choice of procurement process are still ongoing, however most likely this will be Competitive Dialogue or Competitive Procedure with Negotiation will be followed. The primary scope of works for the contract will include: For the Waste Collection this will include the collection of the following household wastes: •Residual waste •Mixed dry recycling •Food waste •Garden waste •Bulky waste •Clinical waste •Waste container deliveries For the Street cleansing this will include: •Street cleansing •Litter bin emptying •Fly tip collection •Flyposting & graffiti removal •Removal of dead animals •Weed management The contract is expected to be awarded in spring 2025, to allow for sufficient time for mobilisation.
