The University of central Lancashire UCLAN wishes to appoint waste collection contractors to uplift and dispose of a variety of general waste from a range of University departments. The University is also looking to implement a high quality general mixed waste collection & recycling and disposal service which implements the waste hierarchy. The service provided will need to support the University's Sustainability Strategy and Waste Management Strategy which requires the University to apply strategies that cause the least impact to the environment. It is intended the appointment (subject to commercial agreement) will be made by January 2015 and the start of the contract to commence at the end of April 2016. UCLan wishes to enter into a contractual agreement with the successful contractor(s) for maximum period of 4 years. The contract will be on a 2 + 1 + 1 with a rolling 12 month extension after 24months: The initial appointment will be for a two year period, years three and four will be appointed on a year by year basis subject to annual review: suppliers performance and SLA targets being met. The extension is also subject to any price increases in waste charges for period’s year 3 and 4: UCLan reserve the right to re-tender the contract following the initial contract term of two years. The University is looking to appoint a single Contractor to deliver each of its following waste collection requirements (Contractors are able to bid for one or more of the following lots). Lot 1: General waste including mixed recyclates Lot 2: Source segregated recyclates. •Cardboard, •Plastics, •Cans, •Glass, •Ferrous and non-ferrous metal, •WEEE waste, •Wood, chipboard, MDF, Lot 3: Paper waste • White Paper (to include shredding and confidential waste disposal Lot 4: Food waste, •General kitchen food waste from catering kitchens/student halls/offices Lot 5: Green/general commercial waste, •General building waste bricks/rubble (small light projects) •White goods, •General furniture, •Soil waste, •Road sweeper waste, •Fluorescent tubes and lamps, •Mattresses, This is an Open EU procurement procedure, the ITT and full specification and supporting documents can be downloaded by registering and expressing your interest on the University's e-tendering system https://intendhost.co.uk/universitycentrallancs/aspx/Home If you have any questions or comments in relation to this tender they must be submitted via the In-tend portal.
