Waste Water and Sewerage Plant Emptying and Maintenance
Descriptions
The service provider is expected to visit the plant 6 times a year primarily for tank de-sludging and emptying (with wastewater and solids to be removed from site by tanker), and for planned inspection and maintenance of the college’s water & sewage treatment plant and equipment detailed above. The successful provider is expected to visit in September, November, January, March, May, and July each year. As part of the operation of the regular maintenance programme, the college requires that wastewater samples are taken on a quarterly basis (i.e. at every second site service visit) to provide written recorded evidence that the wastewater & sewage treatment plant is operating in compliance with current SEPA water discharge standards to provide reassurance to all parties. It is an express condition of the contract that the successful provider will be responsible for the effective delivery and management of the servicing and maintenance contract with the college, and at no time will sub-contract the operation of the contract or any part of it to a third-party provider. In the event of a plant breakdown outwith the 6 scheduled annual site visits, it is required that the successful supplier will provide an acknowledgement of the college’s notification of a fault within 24 hours and, if required as a minimum standard, attendance on site by an engineer within 5 working days.
