Descriptions

The scope of work includes but is not limited to the design, construction and commissioning of capital works associated with:1. Water and waste-water networks planned maintenance. This covers small scale planned maintenance and investigation works, this provides the base workload for the framework.2. Property Level Flood Mitigation Measures on domestic and commercial properties. This covers a range of interventions from installation of flood doors to landscape re-profiling. All works involve a high level of customer engagement.3. Water and waste-water network planned reactive projects. This covers reactive works which are initiated by 3rd party requests such as diversions, or are required in the medium term in response to rainfall events.4. Water and waste-water network proactive projects. This includes small scale proactive projects to reduce the risk of sewer flooding.5. Water and waste-water network large projects This covers a small number of larger value schemes (GBP 2 000 000 - GBP 5 000 000) to be let during each AMP period.It should be noted that the works are predominately on the waste-water network but also include work to strategic water mains. More detail will be in the PQQ document.The contracting entity estimates a spend of approximately GBP 20 000 000 to GBP 30 000 000 per annum over a 10 year duration, giving a total framework value of GBP 200 000 000 to GBP 300 000 000. This range is reflective of variable demand associated with this framework as weather and other mitigating factors can impact on the volumes of work under each work stream.The initial contract period is 5 years with the option to extend by a further 5 years.Applicants must be able to cover the full scope of work detailed in this description whilst also providing an industry leading level of service to Northumbrian Water customers.
