The purpose of this procurement exercise is to develop catering & retail opportunities at WGH. Current services are limited to a staff restaurant, a volunteer-run café and vending. However, a public procurement exercise will be required, albeit light touch, to ensure a fair and transparent process. A desired outcome will be a minimum 5-year contract (with potential extension of a further 5 years) with a base and turnover based rent arrangement along with some inward investment to ensure any facilities looks professional and well managed. This will be an open procurement to ensure the field is open to all including SMEs, social enterprises and local businesses along with established providers. The opportunity will be available in lots or as one package so that the Trust receive the maximum economic benefit and also meet social value requirements.
