Wave and Floating Wind Energy – Shared Infrastructure, Supply Chains and Services Cost Benefit Analysis
Descriptions
The delivery of this project is divided into three distinct parts, and the successful bidder will be required to deliver all parts. Part 1 is expected to last up to 3 weeks during which time the provider will carry out an initial elaboration and evaluation of the scenarios and any other options available to provide the cost reductions, and the methodology to further define these options. An interim meeting will be held with WES to agree the methodology before proceeding with Part 2. Part 2 will last between 6-9 weeks and will deliver the baseline scenario and the generic ‘Key opportunities for sharing between wind and wave’ scenarios study. The evaluation will utilise at the minimum the parameter list in this scope document, plus any other relevant parameters. Part 3 will last for the remainder of the contract and complete the detailed specific analysis of the Mocean Energy and AWS Ocean Energy concepts, with required input information to be provided by WES. Projects should include the following mandatory deliverables as a minimum: - Detailed study plan, including an outline of the final report and presentation to support a scope discussion with WES in the early part of the project. This discussion should include agreement of the input data the contractor will require in order to carry out the final study of Mocean Energy and AWS Ocean Energy-specific scenarios. (approx. week 3) - Mid-project review presentation including a review of baseline study findings and status of study on generic scenarios (approx. week 8) - Draft final report should be delivered to WES (approx. week 13) - Final report detailing all scenarios investigated, including an assessment of the cost benefits relative to a common baseline, an assessment of their wider benefits and an assessment of their practical implications and feasibility. This report should include generic findings, conclusions and recommendations. (approx. week 16) - Separate annex presenting results from the evaluation of specific Mocean Energy and AWS Ocean Energy conceptual designs. This report should include specific findings, conclusions and recommendations. - Final presentation to WES summarising findings, conclusions and recommendations of both the generic and specific studies. Technoeconomic model and instructions to make updates as required for continued WES analysis (between week 12-16) - Ongoing ability for WES to examine new scenarios using the technoeconomic model, beyond the timescales of the tendered project (up to one calendar year)
