Descriptions
Wrexham County Borough Council are looking to engage with the market for supplier who will be able to deliver the following service. Please can you provide details of your knowledge and experience within this area to Rachel Glynn-Thomas (Rachel.glynn-thomas@wrexham.gov.uk) by Friday 20th May 2016 and they will be reviewed. The VVP programme is a Welsh Government regeneration programme which aims to improve the VVP areas of Caia Park, Hightown and Wrexham town centre through 8 different projects. Within the programme is also the Project 9 Employment Project which supports individuals who are seeking work to upskill, gain qualifications and gain sustainable employment in the areas of work created by the other 8 projects. The programme currently facilitates a 4 week (2 days a week) course which support individuals to overcome some of the barriers to employment such as identifying team skills and conducting mock interviews.Through working with individuals from the VVP area it is clear that there is a need for another layer of employment related training which focuses on core skills. This is seen as skills highlighted below, such as confidence and motivation, which are required before training and education can take place. We are therefore looking for a provider who can facilitate a course which focuses on the core skills required before an individual can move to the next step towards employment. Some of the barriers which the course should focus are self-belief, confidence, motivation, awareness of skills and goal setting. The aim of the course is to empower individuals and build their self-esteem to undertake the steps necessary to gain employment. This empowerment in turn should move learners to the next step towards employment, whatever it may be, which they see as achievable. We expect the provider to•build relationships with course participants quickly so that participants trust and act on advice given•be energetic and passionate about working and engaging with individuals who are furthest away from the labour market•have an understanding of the circumstances individuals find themselves in. For this reason previous experience of working with individuals who are unemployed is essentialThe course should include elements of•empowerment and self-belief•goal setting•confidence and motivation building•resilience and coping skills•employment related activitiesNOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at http://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=45635.
