Descriptions
The WDC has approximately 25 staff operating a Microsoft Windows 10 environment. All staff have laptops to facilitate remote and distributed working. However, some laptops are running older versions of Microsoft Office. In addition to the Microsoft Office suite, there is also an on-site server which hosts over 600GB of data. This server is assessable through a VPN for offsite work. The WDC uses a wide range of off the shelf and bespoke applications to support its business, such as Zimba, Adobe, Financial Management Systems (Sage) and Zoom. Details of these applications are contained in Annex AThe WDC now wished to procure a cloud-based solution to provide an integrated suite of software packages based on the Microsoft platform to support the organisation’s effective and efficient operation. The proposed solution should be appropriate to the nature, size and scope of the organisation, details of which can be found at www.wdc.ie. In addition to the software solution itself, responses should include a proposed training and implementation (including product deployment) plan. The solution that will be selected must be a secure, easy to use self-service, web-based portal that will be accessed from both within the WDC internal network and from remote internet based locations. Where possible, the solution should be integrated with other software in use in the WDC.
