The National Procurement Service on behalf of the Welsh Public Sector wishes to establish a Framework Agreement for the supply of Welsh Translation and Simultaneous Interpretation Services. This Speculative Notice is designed to give the market ample notice of the procurement process with specific detail around the criteria for award. The information below is subject to change.The framework will be divided into a number of Lots. The Lots are likely to be, but not limited to:-Lot 1 - Translation from English into WelshLot 2 - Translation from Welsh into EnglishLot 3 - Simultaneous interpretation from English into WelshLot 4 - Simultaneous interpretation from Welsh into EnglishLot 4 will be sub-divided into regional zones. The exact boundaries of these zones are yet to be finalised.One of the selection criteria for the Framework will be that the supplier must be an accredited member of a professional translation/interpretation association/body. The professional translation/interpretation body must be one where examination/assessment is required to become a full member. The professional accreditation must be relevant to the Lot. Examples of professional translation/interpretation associations/bodies, although not exhaustive, are Cymdeithas Cyfieithwyr Cymru and the Institute of Translation and Interpreting.This speculative notice has been published in part to allow potential suppliers to consider relevant professional accreditation prior to the commencement of the procurement process.Full details of the requirements will be included in the OJEU Contract Notice which will be published on Sell2Wales.The estimated date of publication of the OJEU Contract Notice will be May 2018.
