West Scotland Plant Health Surveying

The Forestry Commission's Plant Health Service, provide a service to the Scottish Government and are inviting potential forestry contractors to a requirement information event at the Inveraray Inn, Inverarary on 18th September 2019 at 6pm. The event is for the Plant Health Service to engage with potential forestry contractors for an upcoming requirement for Plant Health related work. This work will include: forest surveying to support pest free area conifer roundwood exports, protected zone billet trap set up and monitoring and port pheromone bark beetle trapping work. This requirement will compliment other work that helps support the protection of Scotland's forests and woodlands from pests and diseases. For the main areas of activity the requirement area will be Argyll and Bute and Highland, but will also include, to a lesser extent, the following local government districts: North and South Ayrshire, Inverclyde, West Dunbartonshire, Stirling, Perth and Kinross. The value of the work will be in the region of £24,000 per year, potentially over a 5 year period.
